In the midst of the night, mortals walk in ignorance of what passes through their shadow.

The pain and the challenges of survival have cost many humans their tolerance, their sanity, their dreams, and for some even their life as it is shattered from the loss of any power or will to act.

Some have managed to go through the brutal way of life by resting their souls in the hands of fate, while others have found escape from the endless pursuit of material possessions.

But this is not what I am here to present.

Let me ask you a question.

What do you believe happens in shadows when some find shelter and others party throughout the night?

Those who remain victims of the cold.

Those whose lives are insignificant to their common circle. 

Yes.

Those who could lose their life and no one would bat an eye.

You might have answered: someone who roams the dark streets in a psychopathic frenzy, who preys on their defenseless victim's blood.

A virus, a mutation in the organism which changes everything you stood for. All the plans and ideas that drove you, none of them makes sense anymore.

You take a look around, you see differently, you hear differently, and you smell differently - because you are different.

You feel a surge of adrenaline kicking in, and as you become self-conscious you come to understand you only perceive one emotion with a single purpose.

You feel lust coursing through your veins as everything you are now is enhanced.

With no understanding of who you have become, you feel joy while others sense your dark presence when you walk into the streets.

You show them their fear.

As one once said, there are consequences for every action.
